ONE – A Celebration of U2 will be playing this Saturday night, July 31st, at Downtown Arena in Cambridge, Ohio. ONE will go on at 10 PM followed by Alternavox (we like the order for our fans). Downtown Arena is located at;

I just finished putting the setlist together for Friday’s show, and all I can say is, if you’re a diehard U2 fan and you were bummed they postponed their tour to the states this summer, then Friday’s set is just what you’ve been looking for. It will be my personal favorite set of the summer, featuring at least one song from every single one of U2’s albums. This is the true U2 fan’s show, and we’ll be pulling out all of the stops to bring you the music you love.

Pray for dry weather, and come on out to beautiful Medina, Ohio. It’s, like, 30 minutes from everywhere.

ONE update

Just wanted to give a quick update on the new stage show and equipment that we are now in possession of. The lighting/video gear is going to be something pretty cool. There are new spandex video screens, aluminum lighting trusses, intelligent lighting, LED lights, Par cam lights, smoke, strobe lights, etc. There is SO much color and movement it will really take your mind on a trip in a wild and cool direction. Our hope is that you won’t just be “watching videos” but you will be hearing and seeing/feeling moods change from song to song. We LOVE U2’s music, but we love the moods they are able to create through their songs. This will help us deliver that type of vibe to you!

The new sound gear is great too. It is very full range and will take our good sound and make it great. We will also be creating a brand new HD Promotional video in the coming weeks. Details for that coming soon.

We are excited to hear and see the reaction of all of you who support that band. Thank you for sticking with us for so long – we aren’t going away anytime soon. Let’s get the word out and make ONE even bigger. Remember, our goal is not to just play music and have you watch – it is to CELEBRATE U2’s music with you!

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday, June 26th at the 356th Fighter Group in Canton, OH.

McKelvey Bash 2010

This past Saturday was a day that I and the guys have looked forward to all year. It was the 17th Annual McKelvey St. Patrick’s Day Bash in Sewickley Pennsylvania. This was the third year that we provided the musical entertainment and fun does not begin to define the evening!

You see, seventeen years ago Dave and Melanie McKelvey started this tradition based on an annual event they did in college. The party would begin at 9am and go well into the night. I am told that for several years they and 60 of their closest friend would rent a school bus that would take them into downtown Pittsburgh where they would celebrate most of the day then return to Dave and Melanie’s to finish the night.

Well, somehow Dave found out about a U2 tribute band from Ohio and thought that the addition of his favorite band’s music would augment the day’s festivities…and a wonderful relationship began. The excitement and synergy at the parties are amazing…like a mini U2 concert, but with all the party goers wearing their favorite green apparel and hats. We are truly ”One” during our last set as the energy heightens through all the classic college tunes of Cheap Trick, The Cure, Cars, Kinks etc into the final stretch with “Streets”, “Pride”, “All I Want Is You/With Or Without You” and “I Will Follow”…WOW! We also kept the tradition of getting shut down by the police three years running now. But I’m not sure who called them because I think Dave’s whole neighborhood was at the party (there’s always that ONE “neighbor”)!

Anyway, our spirits are definitely knit together with our McKelvey friends. Dave tells me that his St. Patrick’s Day bash is continuing to grow in notoriety throughout the greater Pittsburgh area so I won’t be surprised if they have a bunch of party crashers next year. Stay tuned for a possible McKelvey Poolside Summer Bash! Thanks Dave, Melanie, Beth, Lynn, Eric, PJ and the rest o’ yins!

Friday, February 12th at the HOB… What a celebration.

Some people have wondered why we call ourselves “A Celebration of U2″ instead of a tribute to U2, and Friday’s show (February 12th) at the House of Blues in Cleveland is the perfect answer. We know that U2 fans love the music of their favorite band in a personal way, and when they get together, they want to sing (Proof? See “Stuck” link)… which is exactly what happened Friday night. It’s a great feeling to strum the chords to “Stuck in a Moment…” and hear your fellow fans singing along with you, and you did that all night long, from “Boots” to “40“.

U2 fans truly do celebrate the music they love, which is what makes playing the music of U2 a truly joyful experience, and you made Friday a special night for us. Thank you.

Also, ”Captain Fantastic” was truly fantastic. It was a pleasure to share the stage with you guys. We were taking notes.

Correction of HOB ONE/Captain Fantastic show

Just a quick note; The House of Blues email that went out today “Two for Tuesday” has the date of the ONE/Captain Fantastic show incorrect. The correct date is Friday, Feb. 12th. It IS correct on their website, just not on the email. “Two for Tuesday” is a great deal on these $10 tickets. Just make sure you are looking at the right date.

ONE – A Celebration of U2 will be making its return to the House of Blues in Cleveland Ohio Friday, Feb. 12th. Tickets are on sale at all Ticketmaster outlets or at the HOB box office.

It will be a special night of U2 classics, video, and everything you expect from ONE!
